Walk for Hope Here

WALK FOR HOPE HERE

For 51 years Everett Gospel Mission has provided hope and fought homelessness in Snohomish County. During that time we have provided over:
  • 6,000,000 free hot meals served
  • 1,250,000 nights of warm and safe sleep
  • 25,000 lives given hope and a chance to change
That's something to celebrate! But we didn't do this alone, and can't move forward through the next 51 years alone. Going forward will take YOU!

And to help all of us take the first step forward into the next 51 years, Everett Gospel Mission invites you to join us for our second annual Walk for Hope Here. It is a 1.8 mile walk from the EGM Women's Shelter to the Men's Shelter on February 25, 2012. Join us to participate in this fun one-day event that will start all of us walking toward alleviating poverty in our county.

Why a Walk?
By participating in this event, you will be helping bring the message to our community that you support alleviating poverty and homelessness HERE. And you will have the chance to win some great prizes, enjoy a leisurely walk with family and friends, and be treated to breakfast at the men's mission at the end of the walk.

The walk is so much more than a great way to raise funds, it is an awareness raiser, aimed at increasing our community’s ability to change homelessness in our county.

Why Walk in the WINTER?
Although it might be more pleasant to walk in warmer, drier weather than we typically have in February, the homeless don't always have that option. As participants walk the almost two mile course, we hope they will take a moment to "walk in the shoes" of those who lack the warmth and comfort of a home in winter.
