The Blessing of Giving

Fall is here, which means that the holidays will be here before you know it. This season could either be a blessing or one of the biggest challenges we’ve faced.

You can help make sure it’s a blessing!

As you know, the holidays are our busiest time of year. That means we have the opportunity to feed, shelter, and share God’s love with more people than any other season.

It’s a challenge because, with so many extra hungry people in need of food and shelter, we need more help from friends like you. That’s even more true right now because we just came out of a brutal summer and our pantry supplies are low.

Without enough food, we won’t be able to bless the hungry with the gift of a meal. That’s a real problem because each meal can be the start of a whole new life.

Phil*, one of our recent graduates, was ready to give up his life. He spent so much time clinging to material things that when he lost them, his life had no meaning. Now he can’t wait to give up his time, resources and heart to help others.

He says it this way, “You only keep what you have by giving it away.”

God knows that giving to others blesses us. That’s why He asks us to help others. He knows that generosity will not only change others, it will change us.
